Flatbush Zombies – Better Off Dead Tour Review

Last night in Milwaukee  I was at the Flatbush Zombie concert and I must say it was amazing! HIT THE JUPM FOR MORE

For those not familiar with Flatbush Zombies, they are a rap group from Flatbush Brooklyn,NY. They are part of the BEASTCOAST movement with Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, the Underachievers etc. They first popped up on the scene with their mixtape D.R.U.G.S, with their big hit being Thug Waffle. They then got major co-signes from the A$AP MOB, they were even featured on the A$AP MOB mixtape. The buzz off their first tape led to their new project which came out recently called Better off Dead, which led to them headlining their first tour. Curious how they do live, I decided to check them out.

I got there about 40mins before the show to get a good spot. I was right in the middle with like 2 or 3 people ahead of me.  The show started generally on time with some random rapper performing. I had no idea who he was, even though he said his name like 5 times. All I know is he hit me with a C.D right in the head.

After the whack ass rapper spit his struggle bars there was a little bit of a break. Bodega Bamz then came out to perform! For those not familiar, Bamz is a Spannish Harlem rapper who has major co-signes with the A$AP MOB. He performed songs mostly from his mixtape Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.S. He was very entertaining, he would talk to the crowed, smoke cigarets and he even had a flag waver with him.

After Bodega Bamz, then came the main event FLATBUSH ZOMBIES. Juice was the first one to come out and he got the crowed even more hyped.

Then after a song, Erick Arc Elliot and MEECH came out. Flatbush performed a mix of songs from their two tapes. I love both of their tapes so I was pretty hyped, especially when they played Face Off and Death. Even though the venue they were playing at was pretty small, they used the lights really well, dimming them at times, using the different colors to create different effects.

The crowd during Flatbush was pretty insane. There was a lot of shoving, elbowing, bouncing. The physicality of the concert was at the level of a Waka Flocka Flame concert. The most hype moment though was when MEECH came into the crowd and he was legit right next to me.

Overall Flatbush was amazing. These guys definitely have the tools to become rap superstars. They put out great music, they have great shows, and they are very out going. Go support them and download their two tapes!
